Help Bring Hope to Sweet Jasmine
It is impossible to imagine why anyone would hurt any animal, let alone a sweet, tiny puppy like Jasmine. But, the 8-week-old black Labrador Retriever mix puppy is currently being treated at the Wisconsin Humane Society for injuries we suspect were caused by abuse.
Jasmine arrived at the shelter with her three siblings and our staff noted that her right front leg was deformed and not growing properly.
WHS Veterinarian Dr. Randy Zeman suspects that the puppy’s paw had been constricted by rubber bands or string, cutting off circulation to the leg and inhibiting proper development. It was determined by our veterinary staff that Jasmine’s best chance for success was to have the leg amputated.
Jasmine underwent the specialized surgery like a champ! She is currently recovering in the Intensive Care Unit of the Wisconsin Humane Society. The cost of her surgery and medical care is expected to reach about $1,500 and donations are being solicited to cover her special medical expenses. Can you help cover the cost of Jasmine’s special medical needs?

Cream puff beer tap, y’all. Cream. Puff. Beer. Tap. I love my home state. I’ve actually only been to the State Fair once, in 2007, but I can assure you that was indeed the best cream puff of my life. And I had to wait in line for about 20 minutes for it.Spotted at the State Fair today: a cream puff beer tap!
For all non-Wisconsinites, cream puffs are basically the mascot of the State Fair. People wait in ridiculously long lines to obtain them, and they even have an early morning drive-thru window during the 10-day duration of the fair. No, I’m not joking about this. Cream puffs are serious business around these here parts.
I, too, have an unhealthy obsession with charts, graphs and the organization of data. This is my favorite resume I’ve ever seen. I mean… really. freaking awesome.

Tomorrow’s the big day! I’m sooo excited…I’ve never co-hosted anything so exciting…or huge! There’s almost 50 potential folks coming! We were hoping for 20 when we first started planning—-so, wowza!
Twitter really is something special…I’ve met so many amazing people because of it & can’t wait to meet many more. Friday is a great example. I went to a restaurant by myself & tweeted my plans. Within 3 hours 12 people joined me…our table kept growing & growing. It was fantastic & such a great time!
Tomorrow is going to be so much fun & hopefully we’ll raise a nice amount for the blood center, too. :) If you’re in Milwaukee tomorrow & bored, come say HI!
